Section 1. Be it ordained by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, That the Laws of Baltimore City read as follows:

Subtitle 25. Public Utilities

Part 2. Energy Tax

§ 25-12. Tax imposed.

There is levied and imposed a tax on energy delivered through pipes, wires, or conduits to all users in the City other than those exempted by this Part.



§ 25-12.1. Dedication of tax proceeds.

$2.5 million of the proceeds from the tax imposed by this subtitle shall be deposited in the continuing, nonlapsing fund created by authority of City Charter, Article I, § 15 {“Special fund for fair elections”}, to be used exclusively for the purposes specified in that section, subject to appropriation pursuant to the annual Ordinance of Estimates.
