For the purpose of recognizing May 1st as “Charm City Cheers” Day for all the front line workers who are risking their lives to help keep society running.

Recitals

Whereas, Front line workers are employed as medical professionals, truck drivers, teachers, delivery and grocery store workers, and more;

Whereas, These workers have been at work, keeping people alive and food on the shelves of stores, during this time of crisis;

Whereas, Doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals have been risking their health and isolating from their families in order to keep them healthy;

Whereas, Truck drivers, grocery store workers, and many more are still at work and interacting with the public, risking their health and well-being to keep vital goods on the shelves;

Whereas, These workers deserve living wages and safe workplaces; and

Whereas, The City Council and Baltimore City residents will show our support by celebrating them on May 1st.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the City Council of Baltimore, That the Council recognizes May 1st as “Charm City Cheers” Day for all the front line workers who are risking their lives to help keep society running.

And be it further resolved, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the Mayor and the Mayor’s Legislative L...
