Informational Hearing - Illegal Dumping
For the purpose of inviting the Acting Director of the Department of Public Works and the Acting Commissioner of the Department of Housing and Community Development, as well as representatives from the Law Department, the Health Department, and the Baltimore Police Department to explain how their agencies assist in solving the problem of illegal dumping in the City.

Whereas, The City Council would like to better understand what limitations and challenges hamper the Department of Public Works’ (“DPW”) and the Department of Housing and Community Development’s (“DHCD”) response to illegal dumping;
Whereas, The City Council would like to know what additional functions and particular staff DPW and DHCD need to increase their efficiency in responding to illegal dumping;
Whereas, The City Council would like to better understand the role technology currently plays in responding to illegal dumping and what opportunities there are to pursue newer, more capable technology;
Whereas, The City Council would like to understand how DPW and DHCD use data analysis to find areas that are the frequent targets of illegal dumping;
