For the purpose of inviting representatives from the Department of Law, the Baltimore Police Department, the Department of Finance, and other interested parties to discuss the acquisition and use of facial recognition surveillance technology by Baltimore City government, how data from such equipment is used and stored, and any liability the City may face if the technology or its data is misused.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the City Council of Baltimore, That the City Council invites representatives from the Department of Law, the Baltimore Police Department, the Department of Finance’s Bureau of Procurement, and other interested parties to discuss the acquisition and use of facial recognition surveillance technology by Baltimore City government, how data from such equipment is used and stored, and any liability the City may face if the technology or its data is misused.

 

And be it further resolved, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the City Solicitor, the Commissioner of the Baltimore Police Department, the Director of the Department of Finance, and the Mayor’s Legislative Liaison to the City Council.
