For the purpose of recognizing the week of October 3 through 7, 2022, and the first full calendar week of October annually thereafter, as Paraprofessional and School-Related Personnel (PSRP) Appreciation Week to celebrate the invaluable contributions of Baltimore City’s Paraprofessionals and School-Related Personnel in educating and caring for our children.

Whereas, Paraprofessional and School-Related Personnel (PSRP) Appreciation Week is the week of October 3 through October 7, 2022, and the first full calendar week of October annually.

Whereas, PSRPs in Baltimore City care for, educate, and serve as role models for our children and communities.

Whereas, PSRPs represent over 100 job classifications in the City including, but not limited to, Bus Aides, Family and Community Engagement Specialists, Community Schools Specialists, Secretaries, Paraeducators, Staff Associates, and Student Wholeness Specialists.

Whereas, PSRPs deserve a week of recognition separate from Teacher Appreciation Week to celebrate their distinct contributions.

Whereas, PSRPs work in our schools and central offices to ensure City schools are able to open and run daily for the purpose of educating Baltimore’s most valuable resource, our young people.
