Investigative Hearing - Affordable Housing Trust Fund
For the purpose of inviting the Acting Commissioner of the Department of Housing and Community Development, relevant staff, and the Chair and other members of the Affordable Housing Trust Fund Commission to provide an update on the status of the Affordable Housing Trust Fund including, but not limited to, information regarding revenue raised each year since passage of Ordinance 18-215, projects and initiatives funded so far, projects and initiatives in the pipeline to be funded, the spending plan, and ideas for improving the Fund.

Recitals
Whereas, The Baltimore City Affordable Housing Trust Fund was created through a charter amendment ballot initiative, which permitted the City Council to create funding sources by Ordinance and to place the resulting revenue in the Affordable Housing Trust Fund;
Whereas, In 2018, the City Council passed Ordinance 18-215, which identified the source of the Fund’s revenue, and Mayor Pugh agreed to increase that revenue incrementally with additional funds to eventually reach $20 million;
Whereas, The Affordable Housing Trust Fund Commission was appointed in 2018 and oversees the Fund; and
Whereas, The Department of Housing and Community Development administers the Fund.
