FOR the purpose of calling on the Department of Transportation and the Department of Planning to appear before the City Council to discuss the status and application of "Complete Streets" principles to the planning, design, and construction of all new City transportation improvement projects.

Recitals

WHEREAS, The Mayor and City Council adopted Resolution 090433 "Street and Transportation Projects Complete Streets" on November, 22, 2010, directing that the Department of Transportation and the Department of Planning plan for, design, and construct all new City transportation improvement projects to provide appropriate accommodations for pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders, motorists, and persons of all abilities, while promoting safe operation for all users.

WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation was required by City Council Resolution 090433 "Street and Transportation Projects Complete Streets" to provide annual reports on the implementation of Complete Streets principles.

WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation was directed to incorporate Complete Streets principles, as applicable, into all Department plans, manuals, rules, regulations, and programs.
