Recognizing the Service of Councilmember Leon F. Pinkett, III
For the purpose of recognizing Councilmember Leon F. Pinkett, III for his service to Baltimore City.

Recitals
Whereas, Councilmember Pinkett faithfully represented the 7th Council District from 2016-2020, during which he served as Vice-Chair of the Budget and Appropriations Committee and the Transportation Committee;
Whereas, Councilmember Pinkett sponsored the Prevailing Wages - Tax Increments Financing Projects legislation, which extended the existing prevailing wage requirements to projects receiving funding from tax increment financing; .
Whereas, Councilmember Pinkett pioneered the creation of the Pennsylvania Avenue Black Arts and Entertainment District, which stands to revitalize a once-vibrant strip of the City;
Whereas, Councilmember Pinkett always championed Black businesses and Black entrepreneurship - he recognized that for Baltimore to thrive, it must support the economy of the hardest hit neighborhoods in transformative ways; and
Whereas, The President and all members of the City Council will miss Councilmember Pinkett and thank him for his service.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the City Council of Baltimore, That the City Council recognizes Councilmember Leon F. Pinkett, III for his service to Baltimore City.
And be it further resolved, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to Councilmember Leon F. Pinkett, III, the Mayor, and the Mayor’s Legislative Liaison to the City Council.
