Charter Amendment - Department of Real Estate
For the purpose of establishing the Director of the Department of Real Estate as the head of Department of Real Estate; specifying that the Director shall be appointed by the Comptroller; making certain revisions; and submitting this amendment to the qualified voters of the City for adoption or rejection.

Section 1. Be it resolved by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, That the City Charter is proposed to be amended to read as follows:

Article V. Comptroller
ยง 4. Department of Real Estate - Established.
There shall be a Department of Real Estate, the head of which shall be the [Comptroller] Director of the Department of Real Estate, who shall be appointed by the Comptroller.
For the conduct of the Department, the [Comptroller] Director shall appoint [a Real Estate Officer] real estate agents [and such assistants] and such employees as may be provided for in the Ordinance of Estimates.
