Informational Hearing - Coordination between Police Commissioner, School Police Chief, and Sheriff

For the purpose of inviting the Baltimore Police Commissioner, Chief of Baltimore City Schools Police, Baltimore Sheriff, State’s Attorney for Baltimore City, and Deputy Mayor for Public Safety, to explain to the City Council how the agencies and their officials coordinate planning and activities to enhance public safety for the citizens of Baltimore.

Recitals

 

Whereas, The Baltimore Police Commissioner, Chief of Baltimore City Schools Police, Baltimore Sheriff, State’s Attorney for Baltimore City, and Deputy Mayor for Public Safety are all tasked with protecting Baltimore City residents;

 

Whereas, It is extremely important that these key law enforcement agencies and their officials work in coordination with one another to deliver high quality and effective services;

 

Whereas, The City Council needs to stay informed of the tactics, strategies, and other efforts these agencies are using to enhance public safety;

 

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the City Council of Baltimore, That the City Council invites the Baltimore Police Commissioner, Chief of Baltimore City Schools Police, Baltimore Sheriff, State’s Attorney for Baltimore City, and the Deputy Mayor for Public Safety, to explain to the City Council how the agencies and their officials coordinate planning and activities to enhance public safety for the citizens of Baltimore

 

And be it further resolved, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the Baltimore Police Commissioner, Chief of Baltimore City Schools Police, Baltimore Sheriff, State’s Attorney for Baltimore City, Deputy for Public Safety, and the Mayor’s Legislative Liaison to the City Council.
