Informational Hearing - Trauma and Violence in Baltimore City - Involvement and Assistance from City Hospitals
For the purpose of inviting representatives from the Baltimore City Health Department, the Baltimore Police Department, the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement, and City hospitals, including The Johns Hopkins Hospital, MedStar Health, Mercy Medical Center, and the University of Maryland Medical Center, to engage in a discussion with the City Council on how City hospitals could be better utilized to assist with ongoing violence and related trauma in Baltimore City, including opportunities for future involvement and intervention.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the City Council of Baltimore, That the City Council invites representatives from the Baltimore City Health Department, the Baltimore Police Department, the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement, and City hospitals, including The Johns Hopkins Hospital, MedStar Health, Mercy Medical Center, and the University of Maryland Medical Center, to engage in a discussion with the City Council on how City hospitals could be better utilized to assist with ongoing violence and related trauma in Baltimore City, including opportunities for future involvement and intervention.
