For the purpose of recognizing the week of May 8 through 12, 2023, as Teacher Appreciation Week to celebrate the dedicated work of Baltimore City’s teachers, who educate and support our children.

Whereas, Teacher Appreciation Week is the week of May 8 through May 12, 2023.

Whereas, teachers in Baltimore City are the cornerstone of our community, providing not only education, but care, support, and love for our children.

Whereas, with the support of the Baltimore Teachers Union, the American Federation of Teachers, Baltimore City Public Schools, local communities, school administrators, families, and students, Teacher Appreciation Week will be celebrated in Baltimore and beyond.

Whereas, the City Council is grateful for all that Baltimore City teachers have done and will continue to do to educate, shape, and protect our children.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the City Council of Baltimore, That the City Council recognizes the week of May 8 through 12, 2023, as Teacher Appreciation Week to celebrate the dedicated work of Baltimore City’s teachers, who educate and support our children.

And be it further resolved, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the Mayor, the Chief Executive Officer of the Baltimore City Public School System, and the Mayor’s Legislative Liaison to the City...
