AN ORDINANCE concerning

Sale of Property - 1125 North Calvert Street
 
FOR the purpose of authorizing the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to sell, at either public or private sale, all its interest in certain property known as 1125 North Calvert Street (Ward 11, Section 12, Block 498, Lot 10) and no longer needed for public use; and providing for a special effective date.

  SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE, That, in accordance with Article V, ยง 5(b) of the City Charter, the City Comptroller may sell, at either public or private sale, all the interest of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore in the property, known as 1125 North Calvert Street (Ward 11, Section 12, Block 498, Lot 10) and more particularly described as follows:
 
The subject parcel (Block 498, Lot 10) is an improved lot with an 18,093 square-foot structure known as the Inn at Government House.  The City-owned property will be used for the adaptive reuse as a 17-room boutique-style bed and breakfast with ancillary restaurant and event space.
 
  This property being no longer needed for public use.
 
  SECTION 2.  AND BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That no deed may pass under this Ordinance unless the deed has been approved by the City Solicitor.
 
  SECTION 3.  AND BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this Ordinance takes effect on the date it is enacted.
