FOR the purpose of requiring disclosure statements filed by elected officials to be posted on the Ethics Board's Website; excepting these statements from a certain record of inspections; deleting erroneous references to the copying of disclosure statements; and generally relating to the financial disclosure provisions of the City Ethics Code.

SECTION 1. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE, That the Laws of Baltimore City read as follows:

Subtitle 7. Financial Disclosure
§ 7-4. ONLINE POSTING OF ELECTED OFFICIALS' STATEMENTS.
ON OR BEFORE MAY 15 OF EACH YEAR, THE ETHICS BOARD MUST POST ON ITS WEBSITE ALL STATEMENTS FILED BY ELECTED OFFICIALS FOR THE PREVIOUS CALENDAR YEAR. THESE STATEMENTS MUST REMAIN POSTED UNTIL 1 YEAR AFTER THE ELECTED OFFICIAL LEAVES OFFICE AND, IF REQUIRED, HAS FILED A DEPARTURE STATEMENT UNDER § 7-11 OF THIS SUBTITLE.
§ 7-5. [§ 7-4.] Record of inspections.
[The] EXCEPT FOR STATEMENTS POSTED ONLINE IN ACCORD WITH § 7-4 OF THIS SUBTITLE, THE Executive Director must require each person who inspects [or copies] a statement filed under this subtitle to:
(1) identify himself or herself; and
(2) record:
(i) his or her name, home address, telephone number, and organization represented; and
(ii) the name of the person whose statement was inspected [or copied].
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That the catchlines contained in this Ordinance are not law and may not be considered to have been enacted as a part of this or any prior Ordinance.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this Ordinance takes effect on the 30th day after the date it is enacted.
