SECTION 1. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE, That the Laws of Baltimore City read as follows:

Part 1. Telecommunications Tax
ยง 251. Definitions.
(e) Telecommunications line.
"Telecommunications line" means:
(I) a wired or wireless connection, identifiable by a unique telephone number, to an exchange, wireless, or other telecommunications service; OR
(II) A WIRED OR WIRELESS CONNECTION, IDENTIFIABLE BY A UNIQUE ACCOUNT NUMBER, THAT ALLOWS TELEVISION PROGRAMMING TO BE VIEWED ON A TELEVISION SET.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That the catchlines contained in this Ordinance are not law and may not be considered to have been enacted as a part of this or any prior Ordinance.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this Ordinance takes effect on the date it is enacted for all telecommunication lines in service on or after July 1, 2010, and billed on or after August 1, 2010.
