Recitals

Pierce J. Flanigan, III, was born and raised in Baltimore. According to an article in the Baltimore Sun, as a young man he joined his family's business, P. Flanigan & Sons, which had been founded by his great-grandfather, in 1885. According to his son, Pierce J. Flanigan, IV, he took a small, traditional family contracting business and made it a nationally recognized leader in the industry. During his years with the business, he worked to build taxiways, tarmac and approach roads at what is now Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and was involved in the Seagirt Marine Terminal, the widening and maintenance of the Baltimore Beltway and the Jones Falls Expressway, as well as other projects.
