FOR the purpose of temporarily repealing the law providing for the imposition, administration, and collection of an excise tax on passenger-for-hire services; providing for a special, retroactive effective date; and providing for the automatic termination of this Ordinance on a date certain.

SECTION 1. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE, That City Code Article 28, Subtitle 24 {“Passenger for Hire Services”}, is repealed, retroactive to June 18, 2013.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That any tax levy under City Code Article 28, Subtitle 24 {“Passenger for Hire Services”}, after June 18, 2013, and before the effective date of this Ordinance, is void and of no effect, and any payments of that tax, whenever made, must be refunded.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this Ordinance takes effect on the date it is enacted. It will remain in effect until the 180th day after the enactment of this Ordinance, at which time, without further action by the Mayor and City Council: (i) this Ordinance will be abrogated and of no further effe...
