FOR the purpose of approving a Project to allow the Maryland Food Bank to meet the rising demand for its services, to handle more food, hire additional staff, and develop deeper relationships with volunteers and donors, and to increase efficiency in food distribution; and providing for the renovation of its office space, the expansion of lobby, meeting, and parking spaces to better accommodate large volunteer groups; providing for a special effective date; and generally providing for the upgrading of the infrastructure and services of the Maryland Food Bank.

Recitals

WHEREAS, the Maryland Food Bank, a nonprofit organization, purposes to undertake the Project described above.

WHEREAS, the Maryland Food Bank has applied to the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development for approval of the Project and an allocation of tax credits for business entities and individuals that contribute to the Project, under the Department’s Community Investment Tax Credit Program.

WHEREAS, The City Council has reviewed and approves of the Project.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE, That the Maryland Food Bank Project and its application to the State for an allocation of tax credits is approved.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this Resolution takes effect on the date it...
