SECTION 1. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE, That the Laws of Baltimore City read as follows:

Subtitle 37. Minors - Misappropriations and Neglect
ยง 37-4. Child left unattended in vehicle.
(A) PROHIBITED CONDUCT.
[Any] A person[, having] WHO HAS the care or custody of any child under the age of 11 years [who shall cause] MAY NOT CAUSE or [permit] ALLOW the child to remain in a motor vehicle [while not] UNLESS THE CHILD IS attended or accompanied in that motor vehicle by a RELIABLE person WHO IS at least 13 years [of age or more] OLD.
(B) PENALTIES.
ANY PERSON WHO VIOLATES THIS SECTION [shall be deemed] IS guilty of a misdemeanor and, [upon] ON conviction, [shall be] IS subject to a fine of not more than [$500] $1,000 or TO imprisonment for not more than [30 days] 12 MONTHS, or TO both fine and imprisonment.
