A RESOLUTION ENTITLED

 

A COUNCIL RESOLUTION concerning 

  Title

Community Conferencing Center - Community Investment Tax Credit Program

 

FOR the purpose of expressing approval for the application of the Community Conferencing Center to the Department of Housing and Community Development of the State of Maryland for approval of a project to conduct a community-based Crime and Conflict Resolution Initiative in Baltimore City to prevent and reduce crime through the use of the Community Conferencing Process.

Body

WHEREAS, The Community Conference Center, a nonprofit organization, proposes to undertake the project described above; and

 

WHEREAS, The Community Conference Center, a non-profit organization, has applied to the Department of Housing and Community Development of the State of Maryland for approval of the project and an allocation of tax credits for business entities that contribute to the Project, under the Department's Community Investment Tax Credit Program; and

 

WHEREAS, The Baltimore City Council approves the subject project, as a important tool in the fight to prevent and reduce crime within neighborhoods throughout the City of Baltimore.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE, That the City Council approves the application of the Community Conferencing Center to the Department of Housing and Community Development of the State of Maryland for approval of a project to conduct a community-based Crime and Conflict Resolution Initiative in Baltimore City to prevent and reduce crime through the use of the Community Conferencing Process.

 

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this project is approved on the date of adoption of this   Resolution.

 

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the Mayor, the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, the Director of the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development Community Investment Tax Credit Program, the Commissioner of the Baltimore City Department of Housing and Community Development, the Director, Community Conferencing Center, and the Mayor's Legislative Liaison to the City Council.
