SECTION 1. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE, That the Laws of Baltimore City read as follows:

Subtitle 18. Grades, Grading, and Paving

§  1811. “BIKE-SAFE” GRATES REQUIRED.

(A) CITY CONTRACTS

NO CONTRACTS MAY BE MADE BY THE CITY FOR PAVING OR REPAVING ANY STREET, AVENUE, LANE, OR ALLEY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS UNLESS THE CONTRACT REQUIRES THAT ALL DRAINAGE GRATES IN THE AFFECTED AREA BE PLACED SO THAT THE GAPS BETWEEN THE BARS ON THE GRATES ARE PERPENDICULAR TO THE DIRECTION OF TRAFFIC.



(B) GENERAL PAVING

NO PAVING PROJECT MAY BE PERMITTED ON ANY STREET, AVENUE, LANE, OR ALLEY WITHIN THE CITY UNLESS THE PERSON UNDERTAKING THE PROJECT ENSURES TH...
