Approving the Submission of an Application to the Maryland Transit Administration for Transportation Funding through the Statewide Special Transportation Assistance Program (SSTAP)

FOR the purpose of approving the submission of an application with the Maryland Transit Administration of the Maryland Department of Transportation for a grant under the Federal Transit Act.

WHEREAS, The Maryland Transit Administration is the designated recipient in Maryland for grants under the Federal Transit Act; and

WHEREAS, The Administration of the Maryland Transit Administration of the Maryland Department of Transportation is authorized to make grants to counties and to local governments for a mass transportation program of projects; and

WHEREAS, The contract for financial assistance will impose certain obligations upon the applicant, including the provision by it of the local share of the project costs in the program; and

WHEREAS, It is required by the United States Department of Transportation in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 that, in connection with the filing of an application for assistance under the Federal Transit Act, the applicant give an assurance that i...
