Supplementary Federal Fund Operating Appropriation - Mayor’s Office of Employment Development - $1,462,226
FOR the purpose of providing a Supplementary Federal Fund Operating Appropriation in the amount of $1,462,226 to the Mayor’s Office of Employment Development - Service 797 (Workforce Services for Out of School Youth - Youth Opportunity), to provide funding for juvenile offenders, ages 18 to 24, with a menu of services such as community service learning opportunities, educational interventions, career development, and post-program support and follow-up; and providing for a special effective date.

Recitals
The revenue appropriated by this Ordinance represents a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration in excess of the revenue relied on by the Board of Estimates in determining the tax levy required to balance the budget for Fiscal Year 2013.
That grant could not have been expected with reasonable certainty when the Ordinance of Estimates for Fiscal Year 2013 was formulated.
On February 27, 2013, the Board of Estimates recommended this appropriation to the City Council.
