Recitals

One of Baltimore’s greatest strengths is its broad diversity. Our city is at its finest when it takes full advantage of this diversity by mobilizing and empowering all of Baltimore’s many communities.

Women and minority owned business enterprises (W/MBEs) are often among the most important and effective agents for lifting up their communities. Engaging and strengthening them is therefore a key to empowering otherwise disengaged segments of our city.

City Government has made an ongoing commitment to support W/MBEs by helping them to build capacities and encouraging them to become City suppliers and contractors. Thanks to these efforts, W/MBEs make up an ever growing percentage of the companies participating in City operations. Although more remains to be done to ensure that the City’s supplier base is as diverse as her citizens, real progress has been, and continues to be, made.

During Supplier Diversity and Inclusion Week, from October 28th to November 1st, Baltimore will be celebrating the diversity of our supplier base, while highlighting the continuing efforts to further uplift...
