Thank You and Best Wishes to Kathleen Kotarba
 
FOR the purpose of thanking Kathleen Kotarba for her years of faithful and exemplary service to the citizens of Baltimore City, and wishing her well in her future endeavors.

Recitals
  
   WHEREAS, Kathleen Kotarba has faithfully served the citizens of Baltimore as a City employee for nearly four decades.
 
  WHEREAS, Kathleen Kotarba has served as Executive Director of the Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation (CHAP) since 1981.
 
  WHEREAS, under Kathleen Kotarba's leadership, CHAP has established 21 of its 33 locallydesignated Historic Districts and added 127 additional structures to the Landmark List.
 
  WHEREAS, Kathleen Kotarba has also been responsible for the operation of the Edgar Allan Poe House and Museum, the exterior restoration of the McKim Free School, and the administration of the Baltimore City Monument Conservation Program, as well as leading CHAP's effort to create the Baltimore City Heritage Area, which has significantly increased cultural tourism activity in Baltimore.
 
  WHEREAS, Kathleen Kotarba has led CHAP's effort to create and administer Baltimore City's Tax Credits for Historic Restorations and Rehabilitations, generating well over halfabillion dollars in investments in Baltimore's neighborhoods.
 
  WHEREAS, Kathleen Kotarba has worked cooperatively and efficiently with the State Historic Preservation Officer of Maryland and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation for 34 years to review thousands of state and federally funded projects in Baltimore City for compliance with State and Federal Historic Preservation Laws.
 
  WHEREAS,  Kathleen Kotarba has shown tireless enthusiasm and professionalism in mentoring multiple generations of professional staff and volunteer commissioners.
 
 
 
  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE, that the City Council of Baltimore thanks Kathleen Kotarba for her years of faithful and exemplary service to the citizens of Baltimore City, and wishes her well in her future endeavors.
   
   AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the Mayor, the Chair of the Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation, the Executive Director of Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation, and the Mayor's Legislative Liaison to the City Council.
