FOR the purpose of authorizing the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to sell, at either public or private sale, all its interest in certain property known as 811 West Lanvale Street (Block 0411, Lot 022) and no longer needed for public use; and providing for a special effective date.

SECTION 1. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE, That, in accordance with Article II, § 15(c) of the City Charter, the Commissioner of Housing and Community Development may sell, at either public or private sale, all the interest of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore in the property known as 811 West Lanvale Street (Block 0411, Lot 022), and more particularly described as follows:
The subject property, located in the Upton neighborhood, is a large 2½ story vacant building that has, as part of it, a brick stair tower that was constructed in the late 1950s when the building was adapted for public school use. The Baltimore City Public School System surplussed the building to the Department of Housing and Community Development after the school was closed.
This property being no longer needed for public use.
