FOR the purpose of authorizing the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to sell, at either public or private sale, all its interest in certain property known as 1220 East Oliver Street (Block 1123, Lot 017) and no longer needed for public use; and providing for a special effective date.

SECTION 1. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE, That, in accordance with Article II, ยง 15(c) of the City Charter, the Commissioner of Housing and Community Development may sell, at either public or private sale, all the interest of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore in the property known as 1220 East Oliver Street (Block 1123, Lot 017), and more particularly described as follows:
The subject property, located in the Oliver neighborhood, is a vacant building that was constructed in 1905, and used as a firehouse. The firehouse has been closed since 2000, at which point it was surplussed to the Department of Housing and Community Development. The building has a 2-story brick facade, with 3 entry ports.
This property being no longer needed for public use.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That no deed may pass under this Ordinance unless the deed has been approved by the City Solicitor.
