A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL concerning

The Solid Waste Management Plan for Baltimore City
FOR the purpose of adopting a new Solid Waste Management Plan for Baltimore City; providing for a special effective date; and generally relating to solid waste disposal systems, solid waste acceptance facilities, and the systematic collection and disposal of solid waste.

      Recitals
 
  State law (Environment Article ยง 9-503 and COMAR 26.03.03) requires each county and Baltimore City to (i) adopt and maintain a comprehensive solid waste plan that covers at least the succeeding 10-year period and (ii) periodically review and, as needed, amend or revise its plan.
 
  The City of Baltimore last adopted a solid waste management plan by Resolution 03-41, effective June 12, 2003.
 
  The Department of Public Works has prepared a new solid waste management plan for the City.
 
  A public hearing on the new plan, as required by State law, has been held.
 
  SECTION 1.  BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE, That the Solid Waste Management Plan for Baltimore City for 2013-2023 is approved and adopted.
 
  SECTION 3.  AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this Resolution takes effect on the date it is enacted.
