FOR the purpose of celebrating the laudable career of William Driscoll, thanking him for his unwavering commitment to public service upon his retirement from Baltimore City government, and wishing him many years of continued happiness as he spends more time with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren.

It is with marked sadness that the City Council acknowledges that on January 30, 2015, it will say goodbye to one of the most respected and longestserving employees to work for Baltimore City.

William “Bill” M. Driscoll began his career in public service working for Mayor William Donald Schaefer in 1975 shortly after graduating from Towson University with a degree in social science and a desire to improve the City of Baltimore. His political career began as a 12yearold poll worker for J. Joseph Curran, Sr.’s political organization – the United Third District Democratic Club.

In February 2010, after being selected to lead the City Council, Council President Young tapped Driscoll to staff his office and help establish early legislative and policy priorities. Respected and wellliked by all, he is wellinformed and attentive to legislative details and has always performed his duties with consideration and professionalism...
