Recitals

The revenue appropriated by this Ordinance represents funds from the Legal Settlement Proceeds Revenue Fund that the City received as part of a $1.2 million settlement in connection with anti-trust litigation relating to bid-rigging by the municipal derivatives industry, in excess of the revenue relied on by the Board of Estimates in determining the tax levy required to balance the budget for Fiscal Year 2017.

This additional revenue could not have been reasonably anticipated when the Ordinance of Estimates for Fiscal Year 2017 was formulated.
