Section 20-2

Baltimore City Code

(Edition 2000)

                     Recitals

Glenn Doughty, former wide receiver from 1972 to 1979, for the Baltimore Colts, earned the nickname “Shake and Bake”.  After retiring, he decided to give something back to the Upton neighborhood and built the Shake and Bake Family Fun Center, which the Baltimore Afro-American described as “Doughty’s gift to the inner city.”  The Center has recently undergone extensive renovations, and it would be fitting to rename the Center in honor of a man whose contributions have made a difference in the lives of those in the community.

Section 1.  Be it ordained by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, That the name of the Shake and Bake Family Fun Center, located at 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, is changed to the Glenn Doughty Shake and Bake Family Fun Center.

Section 2.  And be it further ordained, That this Ordinance takes effect on the 30th day after the date it is enacted.
