(d) Security deposit alternatives.

(1) “Security deposit” defined.





(i) In general.

Security deposit” means money or any other form of security given by a tenant to a landlord to be held by a landlord on behalf of the tenant by virtue of a residential lease and shall include:

(A) damage deposits;

(B) advance rent deposits; and

(C) pet deposits.

(ii) Exclusions.
