A COUNCIL RESOLUTION concerning
Title
Congratulations to the Baltimore Blast for Winning the 2005-2006 Major Indoor Soccer League Championship
FOR the purpose of congratulating the Baltimore Blast on their third Major Indoor Soccer League Championship victory in the last 4 seasons, winning the 2005-2006 Major Indoor Soccer League Title in the best-of-3 series, 2 games to 1, over the St. Louis Steamers in their home arena; offering congratulations to owner Ed Hale on another fine Baltimore Blast season; sending respect to Machel Millwood for scoring 2 "golden goals" in the Blast post season run; and wishing many more victorious seasons to the entire Baltimore Blast team, families, associates, and fans.

The Baltimore Blast, in a "Golden Goal" session victory, defeated the regular season league champion St. Louis Steamers, 1-0 in the final and deciding game of the Major League Indoor
Soccer Championship. This coming after the Blast rallied to defeat the heavy footed 2005 MISL Champion Milwaukee Wave in the first round of the MISL Playoffs. For the second time in the 2005-2006 playoffs, forward Machel Millwood scored the decisive "golden goal" and proved the ultimate hero for the Baltimore Blast and their fans.
The Blast brought the third championship in 4 seasons back to Baltimore and completed an improbable season with a stunning upset victory. With a never say die attitude, positive frame of mind, and a willingness to go the distance to overcome any obstacles it their path, the Baltimore Blast has once again earned our admiration.
Baltimore owes the Blast much thanks for reminding the nation that we are #1, and for showing us that through hard work and determination, the sky is the limit as to what we can achieve.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE, That the Body congratulates the Baltimore Blast on their third championship victory in the last 4 seasons, winning the 2005-2006 Major Indoor Soccer League Title in the best-of-3 series, 2 games to 1, over the St. Louis Steamers in their home arena; offering congratulations to owner Ed Hale on another fine Baltimore Blast season; and wishing many more victorious seasons to the entire Baltimore Blast team, families, associates, and fans.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the Mayor, the Baltimore Blast and Associates, and the Mayor's Legislative Liaison to the Council.
