Save the United States Postal Service
For the purpose of calling on our U.S. Senators and Congressional representatives to continue supporting the emergency appropriation of funds to sustain the United States Postal Service and to ensure the Postal Service continues to function as a universal public service.

Recitals
Whereas, The Postal Service is enshrined in the United States Constitution "to bind the country together through the correspondence of the people";
Whereas, Due to the COVID-19 economic collapse, the Postal Service projects that it will run out of liquidity by March 2021;
Whereas, The Postal Service is an essential service to the American people, especially veterans, seniors, and small businesses - the Postal Service delivers millions of prescriptions (nearly 170 million in 2019), stimulus checks, census forms, ballots, and medical supplies (including test kits and, in the future, possibly a vaccine for COVID-19);
Whereas, The Postal Service guarantees universal delivery to nearly 160 million delivery points at a fixed cost to everyone, ensuring affordable communication and delivery as a basic right;
Whereas, The Postal Service is one of the most diverse workforces in the United States, providing good, living wage jobs to all employees, including historically disadvantaged groups such as women, veterans, and communit...
