Title: Inter-Agency Violent Crime Reduction Strategy FOR the purpose of requesting members of the Mayor's Cabinet, including the Baltimore City Police Commissioner, the Baltimore City Health Commissioner, the Director of Recreation and Parks, the Director of the Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice, the Director of the Mayor's Office of Employment Development, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Baltimore City Public School System, with coordinated assistance from the Director of the Family League of Baltimore, to combine the unique resources of each agency to develop an interactive, inter-agency strategy to address health, criminal justice, recreation, employment, and other socio-economic issues confronting Baltimore City youth in a comprehensive response to the factors that contribute to or facilitate acts of violence by or upon our City's most vulnerable citizens.

In an effort to combat the troubling incidents of violence, especially that attributed to youth, several City agencies have tailored programs to deal specifically with the needs of juveniles and to provide them an outlet for socialization that steers them away from gangs and gang-related criminal activity.
