FOR the purpose of inviting the Director, Department of Health Services Administration and the Coordinator, Legacy Leadership Institute on Public Policy of the University of Maryland College Park to present the Legacy Leadership Institute on Public Policy program to the City Council, to share how the program has contributed to State and local government, and to explore the efficacy of implementing the program in the Baltimore City Council.

Recitals

The Legacy Leadership Institute on Public Policy provides a “bridge between needs of local communities and government in the State of Maryland and the knowledge and expertise of Maryland residents age 50+ who are seeking careers as volunteer service leaders.” The program offers training and leadership in government offices and the nonprofit sector to retirement-age Maryland residents to facilitate their transition from paid employment to new careers as volunteer Service Leaders in the State of Maryland.

Legacy Leadership provides senior citizens who have had careers in business, education, healthcare, and the military with the opportunity to share their valuable skills with the community.
