House Bill 157, which requires the Governor to annually proclaim March 8 as Maryland Women’s History Day, is of particular import to the City of Baltimore, proud home to the Maryland Women’s Heritage Center, the first comprehensive state-based center and museum of it s kind in the United States.

The Maryland Women’s Heritage Center, located at 39 West Lexington Street in downtown Baltimore, was established to preserve the past, understand the present, and shape the future by recognizing, respecting, and transmitting the experiences and contributions of Maryland women and girls of diverse backgrounds and regions....
