FOR the purpose of congratulating the students, teachers, and administrators of Mount Washington Elementary/Middle School on being named a 2011 National Blue Ribbon School in recognition of the academic excellence and major student achievement gains this year, and recognizing the important contributions of the entire supportive parent and Mount Washington community to the success of the school.

Recitals

On September 15, 2011, the U.S. Secretary of Education announced the 2011 National Blue Ribbon Schools. Mount Washington Elementary/Middle is one of 305 public and private schools across the country to receive the honor, which the CEO of Baltimore City Public Schools states: "recognizes the consistently high performance of Mount Washington's students and the highest possible expectations by Principal Torr, her teachers and staff, and the entire school community."

The U.S. Department of Education's Blue Ribbon Program honors public and private schools that demonstrate sustained academic excellence or dramatic student achievement gains among disadvantaged students.
