Informational Hearing - East Baltimore Development Inc.
FOR the purpose of requesting that the representatives of East Baltimore Development Inc., brief the Council regarding the status of their current projects, their use of minority businesses in current development projects, and their current procurement and hiring practices.

East Baltimore Development Inc. (EBDI) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization charged with leading and managing the $1.8 billion revitalization of an 88acre portion of East Baltimore. EBDI works with support from a long list of partners including the City of Baltimore, the State of Maryland, and a number of local civic groups and charitable Foundations. EBDI’s work is governed by a board of directors that includes government officials, community members, business and academic leaders and representatives of philanthropic organizations.
In Baltimore’s current development market, it is as important as ever for minority businesses
to be included in the procurement and hiring practices of development companies.
