FOR the purpose of joining in the worldwide celebration of Earth Day on April 22, 2015, pledging the Council's support to all citizens and groups charged with the management of natural resources and education promoting environmental understanding and responsibility in the next generation, and calling on all Baltimoreans to use Earth Day as an opportunity to contemplate how we can be better stewards of the environment we have inherited for our children and all future generations.

Recitals

WHEREAS, the youth of our community are our most valuable resource and have the creativity and ability to seek feasible solutions to environmental challenges so that they, and future generations, can live in a healthy and sustainable manner.

WHEREAS, environmental education encourages knowledge and understanding about environmental and economical challenges.

WHEREAS, environmental education helps youth develop the necessary skills and expertise to address the environmental and economic challenges we face.

WHEREAS, the sense of environmental responsibility reached through environmental knowledge acts as a catalyst for future participation in sustainable action.

WHEREAS, the natural resources of the state and nation should be used wisely and with due consideration for the future, and the wise use of these resources...
